Tullum DOC Rosso

It is a cru wine deriving from Montepulciano grapes purely transformed according to the strict rules of the “Disciplinare della nuova DOC”.

The grapes come from vineyards in hilly areas of Tollo indicated in cadastral map sheets.

In 1750 the “Rosso di Tollo” was already so famous in the Reign of Naples that Father Bernardo Valera in his writings would say: “Tollo, a small territory in Abruzzo Citeriore, not very far from the Adriatic sea, and famous for its wine commonly called tear”.

It is a wine with a strong personality that expresses the mixed characteristics of the soil and the age of the vineyards.

It has a complex bouquet with fruity hints and elegant spicy nuances.

To keep the different typical characteristics of the Montepulciano wine, in respect of the tradition the wine ferments in fibreglass-lined cement tanks and ages only in bottles.

“Tullum DOC Rosso” represents the best expression of our old vine in a specific area particularly gifted for wine making.
